Fearless Martial Arts now offers classes in Mathiston instead of Maben. The karate school is now located at 18809 US Highway 82 next to Frost Steel Supply and across the highway from Obsession Cheer.
Fearless Martial Arts was located in Maben for two and half years but decided to move to Mathiston to better serve their students in their After School Program.
“Our main reason for relocating was for the sake of our After School Program. As much as we loved the facility and location in Maben, we faced challenges with our After School Program, which serves Webster County students, with being less than 1/2 a mile outside of Webster County in Oktibbeha County,” said Josh Buford, owner of Fearless Martial Arts.
“Moving inside Webster County will help us tremendously and give us the opportunity to serve more students and families who are in need of after-school services. Our After School Program is an alternative to daycare. Students have an opportunity to increase their self-confidence, respect and self-discipline, among other benefits, as well as homework assistance,” he continued.
Students can expect more of the same classes and programs at the new location.
“We will still be offering our same classes and programs in the hope of equipping, encouraging, and inspiring athletes and families to live their life without fear. We love the opportunity to partner with parents to build up the youth in our communities with the goal that they will make a positive impact within their schools and families,” said Buford.
He and his wife, Samantha, launched Fearless Martial Arts on April 27, 2018. They teach American Karate along with Krav Maga, Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Fearless Martial Arts also offers Mixed Martial Arts classes in those styles along with a Competitive Athlete Program where their certified coaches train athletes in Sport Karate Competition.
They offer various classes for kids and adults.
“Our award-winning Character Development Kids Program starts for kids ages 3 & older. It’s a great combination of Karate, self-defense, fitness and fun. Our adult program is great for adults of any age. It’s a great combination of Karate, self-defense and fitness and is catered to the incubus athlete. It’s great for burning fat, toning muscles, flexibility and for increasing your everyday health in general. We create a fun and encouraging atmosphere with the goal of setting our athletes up to be as successful as possible in the game of life as possible,” said Buford.
Josh and Samatha Buford are head coaches along with Presley Buford, Brannon Armstrong, Nathan Wells, Brian Wells, Ray Reed, Amy Lear, Amy Hart, Dawn Kolbet and Peter Phi. Assistant Coaches are Lanie Williamson, Jaxson Galloway, Suzie Lear, Laci Montgomery, and Paxtyn DuBard.
“We were not created to walk in fear. Each of us are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God, the One who created the heavens and the earth, the one who set the sun and moon in their place, and the One who knows the stars by name. God commands us all throughout His Word as He says “do not be afraid!” This is the core behind our purpose and vision at Fearless Martial Arts. And I am blessed that me and my family have the opportunity to encourage kids and adults alike to break through their fears, overcome challenges, and to fulfill their purpose in life,” said Buford.
Not only did Fearless Martial Arts move their location to Mathiston, but they are launching a second location in Starkville. They hope to begin classes there on August 2. The Starkville location will be at 821C Highway 12, two doors down from China Garden.
