Louisville, MS - Several talented students from Fair Elementary School have been recognized as winners in the Mississippi Secretary of State's Promote the Vote Art Contest and were honored at an awards ceremony in Jackson.
As a partnering school in the Promote the Vote initiative, Fair Elementary participated in both the Mock Election and Art Contest components of the program. These activities helped students gain a deeper understanding of democracy, civic responsibility, and the importance of voting.
The winning students are:
Ava Little- 1st Place Winner
Logan Frazier - 3rd Place Winner
Kiyla Mosley - Honorable Mention
Kimbriella Overstreet - Honorable Mention
Mrs. Lacanda Miller- Art Teacher Recognition
"We are incredibly proud of our students for their creativity and engagement in this program," said Kandi Shorter, Assistant Principal and PTV coordinator at Fair Elementary. "Promote the Vote provides an exciting way for students to learn about elections and express their ideas through art. This recognition is a wonderful achievement for our winners and our school."
