A pastor walking from Texas to the national's capital carrying a cross says he is doing so to unite churches across the land and to declare to all that this is a Christian nation.
The Rev. Ed Maclean began his trek May 16 from Revive Church (www.revive.church) in Longview, Texas, where he is one of five pastors and lead pastor for Revive Recovery. Maclean estimates he will end the 1,400- to 1,500-mile journey to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, where he will speak, around the end of August.
Maclean said the purpose of his walk is to raise up the church and "let the government know that we are a Christian nation.”
He also said he is standing for unity and against division, stating, “God is about unity” and does not like division among races, politics or religion.
