This will provide notice to the residents of Winston and surrounding counties who use Dean Park located in the Center Ridge Community about the closing of the park for two months. The Dean Park Commissioners in consultation and notification to the Winston County Board of Supervisors made a decision to close the park for the Months of January and February 2018. The park will reopen March 1, 2018. The decision was made as a cost cutting measure for those two months. The water will be turned off on Wednesday, January 3,2018 and will remain off until reopening in March. The restrooms will also be closed for use until reopening. The community will have access to the recently placed storm shelter at the park in case of severe weather such as a tornado.
The Commission would like to offer its sincere apology for not advising the community about this action sooner. The park is not used frequently during these two months and should not cause great inconvience to park users.
The community will be pleased to know that when the park does reopen, there will be new dugouts and updated lights where needed. The Commissioners will continue to work as hard as possible to make the park a place that the community can enjoy,use and be proud of. There will be other upgrades and improvements during the upcoming year.
