Local authorities are investigating a burglary committed earlier this month at a Mathiston Church.
The burglary occurred at Mathiston First Baptist Church on Aug. 14. Police Chief Blake Love said a TV and a sound bar were taken from the youth minister’s office, which is located by the cleaners. The items had not been recovered as of Friday morning.
Love said a man was brought in for questioning in connection with the burglary, but no charges had been filed as of Friday.
“It’s still an ongoing investigation,” he said.
Anyone who has any information regarding the burglary is asked to contact the MPD or the Webster County Sheriff’s Office. Love thanked the agencies that have assisted, and the local businesses for helping during the initial investigation.
