Found not guilty on 2nd count
A jury has found a Eupora man guilty of one count of aggravated assault and not guilty of another count.
Webster County Circuit Court records show a trial began Jan. 20 for Daryl Lamont “D-Bo” Redd at the Courthouse in Walthall. Redd, 38, had pleaded not guilty after being arraigned on a December 2020 indictment charging him with two counts of aggravated assault.
On Jan. 21, the jury returned verdicts of guilty on Count I and not guilty on Count II. According to Count I, Redd shot April Stevenson in the leg on July 5, 2020. Count II accused him of shooting at Jordan Gaston on the same date.
A sentencing hearing was conducted Feb. 4, according to a judgment filed Feb. 8 in Webster County Circuit Court. Circuit Judge George Mitchell Jr. sentenced Redd to serve 20 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Fifteen years are to be served followed by five years of post-release supervision. He is to be given credit for time served.
