As the County Boys relish in their victory, its back to the lab as the 2025 season isn’t far from their minds. Some have moved on to Spring sports, whether it’s basketball, baseball, archery, skeet shooting or track, some are preparing to finish out their high school years and focus on what’s next in life whether that’s playing at the next level or not, others are back in the lab working trying to earn a spot on the field next season.
2025 will look a bit different for the Chargers. A longtime foe that has been in the same classification and division for quite some time won’t be a division foe next year. And a recent rival of a couple of years will also not be in the Chargers division. But a longtime foe will not be a division rival and a newfound foe returns back to 3A Region 4.
Next year, East Webster will drop back down to 2A and Mooreville will move to 4A, making the Highway 15 Bowl a non division game. But, a longtime foe will now mean more as they face the County Boys – this time on Tiger Field and the Tigers will welcome the Chargers to their turf.
Region 4 will gain Winona, as they move from the Delta district and Noxubee County who moves back to Region 4.
This means three teams who have won 3A State Championship will all be in the same district. It’s sure to be a battle to the finish as again Region 4 will prove it’s the strongest district in 3A North – and even for the entire 3A. Both Winona and Noxubee County will have a chip on their shoulder when meeting the Chargers, and the Chargers will be on a mission to prove “No Caleb? No problem! We’re still here!”
Track, Cross Country, Fast Pitch and Baseball will all have the same region as football. Volleyball who has been in the South for the past couple of years will now move to the north
In Powerlifting, the district will be 3A Region 2 and the Chargers will face Thomas E. Edwards, Aberdeen, Amanda Elzy, Nettleton, Noxubee County and OBannon.
In Boys Golf, the district will be 3A Region 3 and will include Mantachie, Nettleton, Winona and Yazoo County. In Girls Golf, it will Class 2.
Other new teams moving to 3A are: Pisgah, Union, Raleigh, Presbyterian Christian School, and O’Bannon.
