WRITEON FOR NOV 20

I was reflecting on the many abundances in my life. For example, I received an abundance of ‘please send a donation’ cards and letters in the past week or two. But, I do not have an abundance of money! There has been an abundance of cold weather, yet, the sun has shone so beautifully! I have had an abundance of good care from Kindred Nurses lately, but I could have done without the abundance of wounds!
While lying about I have noticed an abundance of dust…that never seemed to move!with no one to tidy up. The dust has stayed put and I have been able to happily move it about! I also discovered an abundance of ‘things’ quite unneeded and have found a way to move them on.
Abundance is a wonderful gift…how many dollars is an abundance? A very rich person said…when I get the next one. Some are never satisfied. There is an abundance of poverty and anguish in our world; goodness and sharing as well. Across our country and the rest of the world there is an abundance of hunger. We, however, produce such an abundance of food that much has to be thrown away, wasted.
We’ve recently read about the abundance of wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters. Despite their almost evil plots against us, out comes our abundance of firefighters, doctors, first responders and neighbors who care. There is an abundance of plastic killing living creatures in the oceans and seas, and young folks dedicating their lives to fishing it out and repurposing the plastic for our use. There is an abundance of illness and disease and thousands of doctors and researchers who strive daily to find the cures. Our government is suffering from an abundance of distress. Equally, there is an abundance of persons seeking the truth.
So we might sit with an abundance of love and hope surrounding us as we prepare for T-Day…and yet there are many, perhaps quite near us, who suffer from loneliness and feelings of abandonment. I guess part of life in this world is about an abundance of contradictions. Maybe the goal is to learn to live looking outward where the other might need help, consolation, or hope. Then we participate in the abundance of kindness rather than doom and gloom!
BLESSINGS.
