The presidential race is set as Nikki Haley of South Carolina and former United Nations Ambassador has bowed out of the race and it’s another face-off between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
But, here’s how Choctaw County voted in the election. In a very low voter turnout, with 1,143 votes cast in the Republican primary, 1,083 in person and 60 by absentee, former President Donald Trump took Choctaw County. Nikki Haley came in second with 51 votes, Ron DeSantis received 15 and there were two write ins.
In the senate race, Roger Wicker pulled out the win in on the Republican ticket for Choctaw County with 548 votes. Ghannon Burton received 450 votes and Dan Eubanks received 137 and there were two write ins.
On the first Congressional District, Trent Kelly went unopposed in the primary, receiving 1,103 votes.
On the democratic ticket, there were 315 votes cast, 299 were in person and 16 were by absentee ballot.
Incumbent President Joe Biden ran unopposed and received 296 votes and 11 write-ins, on the Senate ticket, Ty Pinkins received 293 votes and three write ins. On the first Congressional District ticket, Dianne Dodson Black received 241 votes, Bronco Williams received 60 and there were three write ins.
