WoodmenLife Chapter 373 in Ackerman recently volunteered at the Choctaw Baptist Food Bank/Pantry. Chapter member volunteers worked to help distribute boxes of food to the food pantry patrons; and at the end of the day, the Chapter presented the Food Pantry with a $500 check to help replenish food stock.
“WoodmenLife’s National Community Focus is fighting hunger, so it was a perfect fit for us to partner with the food bank,” said Faye Ivy, Secretary of Chapter 373. “We wanted to help in any way we could, so they can spend their efforts in getting the food where it needs to go – to the families who need it.”
The Food Bank serves families throughout Choctaw County and is always looking for volunteers to help out. Those wishing to volunteer can contact Michael Bishop at 662-736-4480.
