Webster County recorded a half-dozen new cases of COVID-19 during the past week, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Monday coronavirus report.
The county’s total COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began is now at 2,036. That represents six new cases since last week. The number of coronavirus-related deaths remains unchanged at 46, as do the number of long-term care facility cases (67) and deaths (14) to date.
For the two-week period ending Oct. 18, Webster's incidence rate was no longer among the top 20 counties but was among the lowest in the state, showing only a 1% increase. MSDH data shows 44% of Webster County’s population was fully vaccinated as of Monday — no change from previous weeks.
