Saturday, November 13, the Town of Noxapater was bustling with people as the Noxapater Community Chamber Alliance hosted the first Noxapater Day and the first Annual Trigger Town Chili Showdown.
Chili teams served up their delicious chilis all morning, with hundreds of persons gathering downtown Noxapater. Each person voted for best overall chili and for the best decorated and/or costumed chili team. There were 14 teams competing for the best overall chili trophy. The winners were the following:Overall Best Chili: First place went to Team Chuckwagon Chili by Trigger Town Farms, Ben & Nadine Kirk & Bruce Kirk; Second Place went to Team Rock -N-Roll Chili by the Red Hot Chili Preppers, Kooper Battle & Abby Wells; and third place went to Team Abilene White Chili by The Market Girls , Sylvia Vowell, Natalie & Betsy Carson Hatcher.
The award for Best Costume and Decor went to Team Gangster Chili, Rayford Manning.
Local merchants in Noxapater donated to the Raffle basket and the Raffle Winner was Mia Kent.
