Friends of Tomnolen Volunteer Fire Department Organization is pleased to announce it has received the classification as a non-profit organization listed under IRS 501(c)(3).
Organizations described in Section 501(c)(3) are commonly referred to as charitable organizations.
The purpose of forming the “Friends of Tomnolen Volunteer Fire Department” Organization is to support the Tomnolen Volunteer Fire Department in purchasing equipment and supplies.
The Tomnolen Volunteer Fire Department receives approximately $3,200 each year for operational support from Webster County. This fire department does not have any other funding source such as a community or town to rely on.
The operation funding is used for utilities, diesel fuel and equipment for volunteer firefighters. There was a critical need to provide other resources to support this all-volunteer fire department.
