STURGIS LOCALS (By Edyth Irene Sullivan): The recent rains have done much good. - Dr. W. E. Murphy spent Thursday last in West Point. - Mr. and Mrs. John Hutcherson and Messrs. Morton and Bevill transacted business in Starkville Thursday. - Rev. Tom Tomlinson spent part of last week with homefolk. - Mrs. R. L. Wallace and little sister Ethel Miles left Thursday for a visit to their parents at Pulaski. - Rev. J. M. Massey and wife are visiting their son, W. D. Massey, and daughter, Mrs. McQuirter. - Mrs. A. F. Richardson spent Tuesday in Ackerman. - Miss Elvie Belle is spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Holliman. - Mrs. Mary Taylor is spending a few weeks with relatives in Mathiston. – Robert Grumpton of Starkville was here last week. - Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Neble of Laurel are visiting their daughter, Mrs. J. A. McKinzie.
LOST: On Saturday, June 3rd between Mrs. Kemps and the one mile board on the Maben and Cumberland road, one brown colored Ladies Hand Bag, CONTAINING ONE PAIR LADIES GLOVES, ONE LADIES PURSE, AND ONE POCKET BOOK. The pocket book contained a $20 Bill, some small change and some valuable papers. Finder will be rewarded by leaving same at Maben Press Office or writing Jeff E. Wofford, Dancy, Miss.

Fondren. - Tom Huffman and wife were down from Clarkson shopping this week. - Misses Ardie and Leitha Crow are visiting their sister at Morehead this week. - Mr. and Mrs. Grover McKee are spending a few days with relatives and friends in Eupora. - Misses Emma and Ella Johnson are the guests of Mrs. Richard Smith in Houston. - Mrs. Mallory and visitor, Miss Denlev, spent Wednesday afternoon at Mathiston. – George Philley, J. H. Randle and J. W. Orman of near Clarkson were transacting business in town this week.
