The Women in the NAACP (WIN) came together Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Lake-Tia-Okata for a prayer and balloon release. Our prayer was for our town of Louisville, Leadership, The Pandemic, Our Youth, and Our WIN Organization. The WIN organization had a membership drive that started in May and ended August 30th. In January the WIN organization had 13 members and by August 30th we have a total of 30 members and room for more willing workers.
Our Prayer for Leadership- Continue blessing our leaders with wisdom and insight and may we be known for love and fairness. We pray for healing and wisdom for our leaders as they strive to achieve peace and order as they make impactful decisions for our town.
Our Prayer for Louisville/Community- We pray for healing in our city and community during this pandemic. Praying for compassion for our community and for blessings to rain down on our community. To bring peace and harmony where there is violence and dissent, and prosperity and hope where there is poverty and despair.
Our Prayer for Our Youth- Is that they find positive role models to look up too. We hope to see schools that contribute to the social fabric of a community and equip our children to achieve and thrive.
Our Prayer for Our WIN Organization- Give us the compassion and empathy we need to understand what those in our community are going through. Give us the faith to bring our expertise and experience to work out solutions together to improve our community. We pray to be an instrument of peace.
“We do believe our God is big enough to make us all whole again. Pray together to overcome!”
