A public hearing, on the subject of redistricting, was held on Tuesday, October19, at 5 p.m., prior to the regular aldermen meeting. Toby Sanford, Golden Triangle GIS Director presented three different plans. Sanford stated that the preferred method of redistricting is to make a few moves a necessary. The first plan would involve only Wards 2 & 3, with Ward 2 losing a small number of voters and Ward 3 gaining a small number. No action was taken on any of the plans.
In the regular meeting the Louisville Board of Aldermen took action on a number of items involving Louisville Police Dept., including:
• Authorization to hire of Darrius Goss as a Patrol Officer, rank of Patrolman, effective November 4, 2021, rate of pay $15.65/hour.
• Authorization to hire of Charles Ponder as a Patrol Officer, rank of Patrolman, effective October 21, 2021, rate of pay $15.65/hour.
• Authorization to hire of Jeremy Fortney as a Patrol Officer, rank of Patrolman First Class, rate of pay $16.10/hour.
• Authorization to promote James Mask to Patrolman First Class, effective October 21, 2021, rate of pay $16.10/hour.
• Authorization to promote Justin Marshall to Corporal, effective October 21, 2021, rate of pay $17.44/hour.
• Authorization to promote Dalton Womble to Corporal, effective October 21, 2021, rate of pay $17.44/hour.
• Authorization to promote Devodrick Sims to Sergeant, effective October 21, 2021, rate of pay $18.75/hour.
• Authorization to promote Prinston Henderson to Lieutenant, effective October 21, 2021, rate of pay $20.13/hour.
• Accept resignation of Sergeant Anthony Ball, effective October 27, 2021. All items were unanimously approved.
In other action, the Board:
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment to First Security Bank of Batesville in the amount of
$7K, for the 2012 GO Bonds.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize annual publication of Solid Waste and Landfill expenses.
• Voted 5-0 to approve budget amendments for 2020-2021 Budget.
• Voted 5-0 to acknowledge delinquent accounts/uncollectible accounts.
• Voted 5-0 to approve Municipal Compliance Audit.
• Voted 5-0 to acknowledge the receipt of $50K from Winston Plywood in accordance with agreement.
• Voted 5-0 to declare City of Louisville Halloween, Saturday, October 30, 2021.
• Voted 5-0 to declare Thanksgiving holidays to be November 25-26, 2021.
• Voted 5-0 to declare Christmas holidays to be December 23-24, 2021.
• Voted 5-0 to declare New Year’s holidays to be December 31, 2021.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize the annual transfer of $100K from General Fund to E-911 Fund in quarterly installments of $25K.
