In the regular meeting of the Louisville Board of Aldermen, held on Tuesday, September 7, the Board unanimously approved several requests by the Recreation Department, including:
•Hiring Shaston Coleman as Asst. Recreation Director and Activities Coordinator.
•Hiring Jessica Rushing as Recreation Administrative Asst. and Concessions Manager.
•Promoting Dalton Anthony from part-time to full-time employment.
•Hiring Markevius Jackson as a full-time employee.
On the Strand Theater renovation project, the Board approved two action items: payment to Burks Mordecai Builders in the amount of $179K, and payment to Pryor Morrow in the amount of $6K.
The Board voted unanimously to authorize the Mayor to sign tax collection agreements with Louisville Municipal Schools and Winston County:
•For the city to collect school tax on property inside the city limits.
•For the county to collect school tax on property outside city limits.
•For the county to collect motor vehicle and mobile home taxes for the city.
In unclean property business, the Board voted unanimously to grant 30 day extensions for:
•270 East Academy owned by Ines Marshall.
•130 North Street owned by Felecia Marshal. In other business, the Board voted unanimously to:
•Authorize payment of dockets for August invoices in the amount of $169.8K.
•Accept bid from JJ Merchant, Purvis, MS, for 1992 Brush/Fire truck, in the amount of $2.5K.
•Accept bid from Jeremy Beck, for surplus property located at 639 Baremore Street, Louisville, in the amount of $3.5K.
•Adopt a resolution to set the tax levy for 2021 taxes.
•Approve the 2021-2022 budget and give notice of availability of budget to newspaper.
•Authorize Kayla Rogers to attend the Municipal Court Clerks Hybrid Conference, September 22-24. 2021, in Philadelphia at no cost to the city.
