WoodmenLife Chapter 102 of Louisville along with members of the Whitehall Methodist Church met at Louisville First Methodist Church to stuff 114 backpacks for Backpacks of Hope. These backpacks are given to students on Friday so that they will have food to eat over the weekend. This program is under the direction of Mrs. Debra Childs and is a weekly event. Backpacks are distributed to Fair, Louisville Elementary, Eiland and Noxapater schools.
“WoodmenLife chapters across the country share a commitment to fighting hunger,” said Becky Waddell, Secretary of Chapter 102. “It is estimated that 1 in 7 Americans don’t know where their next meal is coming from. A large number of those are children. By providing these backpacks filled with food, we can help children in our community get the healthy food that they need.”
