This past Saturday morning the seventh-annual Pink Celebration was held at the Louisville Coliseum, in conjunction with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Janice Turner, the founder of Pink Celebration, is herself a 37-year survivor, and pointed out that breast cancer does not discriminate by age, race, social status or even by gender. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide, and is one of the leading causes of death among women. Several survivors were scheduled to speak at this year's Pink Celebration, along with a nurse to give practical advice.
