REPM, Retired Education Personnel of Mississippi, met Thursday, October 7, 2021. The guest speaker was Mrs. Candice Cefalu. She is co-owner and pharmacist at Tabor Drugs.
She spoke on the enrollment period for Medicare. Mrs. Cefalu was informative about some of the “dos and don’ts” that concern the enrollment. She told how some people get into certain categories (such as the “donut hole”) and explained why. She also told the members present how to prevent or reduce these type issues from happening again. Candice offered assistance to anyone with choosing the program that best suits their needs. She gave examples of how different circumstances could affect which program might work better than another program. Mrs. Cefalu led a question-and-answer period that many of the attendees participated in.
After the presentation, there was a business meeting to elect new officers for the upcoming year. The new officers for REPM are: President – Billy Metts; Vice-president – Connie Estes; Treasurer – Carol McAdory; and Secretary – Doris Hayes. Their term will start with the November meeting.
REPM will be meeting November 4, 2021 at City Hall at 1:00 pm. The speaker will be Mr. Glenn Haab.
