Health Department
open to public
The Webster County Health Department is open to the public, though Google search results incorrectly state that this location is permanently closed.
A request for edit has been issued to Google to correct the error, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health.
The department is located at 57 Government Ave., Eupora. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse, is Nov. 15-22.
Shoebox gifts filled with school supplies, hygiene items and fun toys for children worldwide may be dropped off at Sapa Baptist Church, 165 N. Sapa Road.

Rotary speaker
The Eupora Rotary Club invites non-club members to hear guest speaker Brandon Presley, Northern District public service commission, at its weekly luncheon meeting on Nov. 30
The meeting will begin with a noon luncheon in the banquet room at the Kountry Kitchen, 2801 E. Roane Ave. Presley will speak at 12:30 p.m. and will give an update on broadband expansion.
Guests who join the club for lunch will be responsible for their own meal cost.
Horner family
benefit Dec. 4
A benefit for the family of Kim and Josh Horner of Mathiston will be Dec. 4 at the Woodmen of the World lodge east of Eupora.
Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer in February and continues to battle through this journey today. Her husband, Josh, was diagnosed with bone cancer in September.
Organizers need the community's help through supplies, monetary donations and auction items. tGet a chance to win door prizes for every household item you bring for the family, such as toilet paper, laundry detergent and soap.
Time Schedule: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: live entertainment and kids activities; 12:30-2 p.m.: cake walk; 2 p.m. until: live auction; food and silent auction all day.

Christmas Parade
The Mathiston Christmas Parade will be at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 4. This year's theme is "Happy Who-lidays, Show Your Heart!"

Eupora
Christmas Parade
The 2021 Eupora Christmas Parade will be Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. The theme is "Carols of Christmas" and Susan Edwards, retired Eupora High School teacher, will serve as grand marshal.
The Eupora Rotary Club, sponsor, invites all individuals, groups, vehicles, ATV riders, motorcycle riders and floats to participate. There is no cost for entry. Judges will award prizes for the first, second- and third-place floats.
All participants must register and complete an entry form by 5 p.m. Dec. 2. Forms are available at the Progress-Times and Eupora City Hall, or may be requested by emailing news@websterprogresstimes.com or calling 662-258-3109.

Christmas Parade
The 2021 Second Avenue Christmas Parade will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 in Maben. The theme for this year’s parade is “HomeTown Christmas.”
Floats, classic cars, trucks, tractors, horses, wagons, four-wheelers, costumed walkers/groups and bands are all welcomed to participate..

Library hours
The Maben Public Library’s regular hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and noon-4:30 p.m.
