The Maben Lions Club welcomed Lion Amy Harrison, who is the new second vice district governor for our Lions clubs in Mississippi.
She brought us a message encouraging members to attend district and state meetings coming up throughout the year. She also encouraged us to continue to give to the Lions of Mississippi Sight Foundation, the Lions Mid-South Sight and Hearing Foundation, the Lions Club International Foundation and our own local Lions Club focus on helping people with sight needs.
One of the most-needed charity efforts involves collecting food for area food banks.
Recently, the Maben Lions Club received recognition for our gift to Leader Dog Foundation, which trains and provides service dogs to people who are blind. The banner patch that we receive each year for this annual gift is the colorful "dog bone" declaring the Maben club as a "Big Dog" Club.
See this year's patch near the bottom of our Maben Lions Club Banner in the photo.
