On Wednesday, March 30, Winston Plywood & Veneer held a Health Fair which was open to all team members. Jessica Gleason, WPV Nurse, said, "We love to do what we can for our employees, to help keep them safe and healthy."
One of the major benefits of the Health Fair was having many different resources and vendors on hand. Some of those vendors present were Lynn McCafferty with Tobacco Free Mississippi, Veronica Harrison with Community Counseling, Tracy Gregory with MSU Extension Service, Luke Pierce with Blue Cross Insurance, Ladye Vance & Chloe Crimm with Louisville Dental Associates, Dulcie Stewart and Candice Cefalu of Tabor Drugs and others.
Also present were Debbie Smith, Shelby Reeves, Anna Clair Fortune, Amanda Fortune- Winstead, and Vaughan Hill of Louisville Medical Clinic checking weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.
Team members had very positive responses to the Health Fair being held at the workplace. Lashanda Baker said, "I think it's a great opportunity for all of our employees. We really promote health and wellness to our employees, and I think it's a great opportunity for them to come in and not take time off work."
Kalvin Hackney stated that you have people who maybe don't go to the doctor to get checked out, and the Health Fair brings resources to them, and Ty Frazier added that she was able to visit with some of the local vendors that she was not aware of.
The 2022 Health Fair is another example of who Winston Plywood and Veneer puts the health and well-being of their team members at the forefront.
