Social Media Lunch and Learn
presentation given
On Wednesday, April 13, a number of local business people gathered at Market Cafe in Louisville, to hear a Lunch and Learn presentation from Nicole Brown, on the importance of a social media presence for small businesses.
Brown is a full-time HR professional by day and a content creator in her spare time, and is the face behind her blog, Lelia's Southern Charm, which is named after her late grandmother, Lelia who loved fashion, people, and sweet tea.
She has been an influencer for the past two-to-three years, and enjoys sharing content about affordable fashions and lifestyle. When not working, Brown works on content for her blog, and loves to partner with local businesses to bring awareness of all of the fun places to eat, shop and play in Mississippi.
Brown, who lives in the Madison area, has partnered with many local brands as well as LOFT, Vera Bradley, Dunkin Donuts, and Cato Fashions. She served as a Best Dressed Jackson honoree in 2021 to help raise money for the American Cancer Society where she raised almost $4K dollars towards the cause, and is currently on the board with Make-A- Wish to help bring awareness and raise money for kids in the MS area.
Brown's presentation focused on the power of having a social media presence, including making connections, gaining valuable insights into the business community, and creating a greater reach with the public.
She touched on several different social media platforms that might be valuable to a business, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Pinterest. And she presented ways of keeping customers engaged with giveaways, discounts, behind-the- scenes presentations and more.
The presentation was sponsored by the Louisville/Winston County Chamber of Commerce, and Director, Amy Hillyer, stated that Brown came highly recommended by the Mississippi Main Street Association.
