Despite bad weather this past Thursday evening, the Winston Cattlemen’s Association’s (WCA) first planned program of 2022 was well attended. WCA offered the members a great program conducted by the Town Creek Farm (TCF) manager and WCA Board member Mr. Corey White. White was accompanied by Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association (MCA) State President, Mr. Clint Ladner, and Mr. Cody Glenn, both of Town Creek Farms.
TCF’s program addressed an overview of their farm operations, the value of an efficient productive female, and the Brangus Vigor program. Also, MCA President Ladner gave the group an update of the MCA progress and plans for the upcoming year and offered his support to WCA in all endeavors. We certainly appreciate President Ladner taking time to meet with our association.
WCA, also started out this programming year with a new Association President, Ms. Brenda Goodin. Goodin is Winston County’s first female President of WCA. Although women have always been an integral part of WCA’s success. Women have traditionally contributed much over the years by serving as Board of Director leaders, and WCA members. Winston County is certainly proud of Goodin’s rise to become WCA President.
We look forward to the leadership she will provide for in the future and expand on the WCA mission statement of, “Providing knowledge, education, and experience to local farm families ensuring cattle and community growth.”

Editor’s note: A detailed view of Brenda Goodin’s vision of the Association will be in the March 2, 2022 edition.
