Providence Baptist Church memorial
April 28
Memorial at Providence Baptist Church will be April 28 in Choctaw County. The speaker will be Randy Poss, son of the church’s longtime pastor, Bro. Randle Poss. Special music will be provided by Nicole Oswalt.
Service will begin at 10:30 Sunday morning. Bring lunch and spread with us in our family life center as we worship the Lord and fellowship together.
Kids and Katz Fishing Rodeo
April 27
It’s that time again for the annual Kids N Kats Fishing Rodeo at Legion State Park. It will be held Saturday, April 27 with registration beginning at 8 a.m. This will be for ages 16 and under. All participants must be accompanied with adult supervision at all times. We ask that you bring your own bait and tackle. Fair Quarters Reunion
April 27
The Fair Quarters reunion – encompassing Pineywood, Backstreet, Armstrong, and Eiland Plaza – will be held on Saturday, April 27 in the Fair Quarters area. On April 28, to commemorate those who lost their lives during the 2014 tornado, there will be a release held on the backstreet. The release will take place at 5 p.m. Shirts are on sale for those who may want to purchase one. Donations are being accepted for food, but drinks and food items can also be accepted. Community Awareness Opioid Forum

There will be a community opioid forum held at the Mt. Olive-Bethany-Harmony. Building, located on Armstrong Street.
National Day of Prayer
May 2
The Winston Baptist Association will hold its annual National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2 at 12:15 in the Louisville Coliseum parking lot.
Voter Registration & Get Out the Vote
May 4
Mt. Pleasant Hathorn Community, Louisville Voter Education & Youth Development, and Black Voters Matter will host a Voter Registration & Get Out the Vote. It will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Community Deer Camp, 2969 Elijah Graham Road, Noxapater, MS. The public is invited to attend.
Graduations
Grace Christian School will hold its commencement ceremony on May 4.
Winston Academy will hold its baccalaureate service on May 5 and commencement ceremony on May 10.
Nanih Waiya High School will hold its commencement ceremony on May 21.
Noxapater High School will hold its commencement ceremony on May 23.
Louisville High School will hold its commencement ceremony on May 24.
Meetings
The City of Louisville will meet at city hall every first and third Tuesday of the month.
The Town of Noxapater will meet every first Tuesday of the month.
The Winston County Board of Supervisors will meet at the Winston County Courthouse every first Monday of the month. The board voted to change their meetings to once a month.
The Louisville Municipal School District meets every second Monday of the month.
The Winston County Youth and College Chapter NAACP meetings are held on the first and third Mondays at 6 p.m. at Triumphant Word Center, 18289 E. John C. Stennis Drive (Highway 397).
