Webster County Library: ‘Spring Fever’
Only one pre-K child showed up for Storytime at Webster County Storytime on May 8.
That did not stop Arlo from enjoying Storytime. He and Ms. Anita sang and danced to “Jump Up and Down,” “Animal Freeze Song” “ and “Sit on the Mat and Clap.”
Ms. Anita and Arlo read “Spring Fever” by Salina Yoon together and afterwards he decorated a flower scene using cupcake liners
Summer reading will start June 4 at 1:30 p.m. For more information call 662-258-7515.
Maben Library: ‘We're Making Breakfast for Mother’
May 10 was all about Mother's Day at the Maben Public Library. Our story for Storytime was "We're Making Breakfast for Mother."
This gave the children some ideas about what they could do for their moms for Mother's Day. They could make breakfast, toast with butter and jam, cereal with milk, tea with sugar and pick flowers for them.
Mom was very appreciative but wanted to go for a walk so she wouldn't have to see what the kitchen looked like. This book is repetitive and helps the children learn to read. They helped me read it and hopefully they got some ideas for Mother's Day.
They made a Mother's Day card and wrote some things about their moms. They also painted a picture and played with Play-Doh.
Last Friday we had Will Anderson, Bowman Hatcher, Kimber Jo Scott, Luke Williams, Skyler Smith, Ila Ann and Aubrey Miles, Reese Phelps, and Eleanor and John Henry Krusee.
Come join us this Friday, the 17th, for our last Storytime. Come dressed for a tea party!
