Webster County Library: Valentine’s Day theme
On Feb. 14, Ms. Anita was out because of illness in family, but the assistant librarian, Laura MacFarland, stepped in and read to the children.
They sang “Shake Your Silly Self” before Ms. Laura read “Love from Llama, Llama,” “The Love Pug” and “Valentine Mice.” The children exchanged valentine cards and carried home the valentine bag made the previous week.
After the story, the children stayed and played in the children’s area.
Storytime is each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
Maben Library: ‘On the Farm’
Feb. 16 at the Maben Public Library was all about the farm. Our book was titled "On the Farm."
This was about roosters, cows, horses, cats, dogs, ducks, sheep, pigs and chickens. Farmer Lyle was always happy. He loved taking care of the animals even when it rained. This was good for the crops but the best surprise was Farmer Lyle's wife had a baby! This made him really happy.
The children enjoyed making the animal sounds while we read the story and after we read our story, it was time to paint some of the things in the book. The easiest was a barn and several painted animals. After they finished painting, they played in the corn center. Some played with magnets and puzzles.
Last Friday we had Tyler Kay Bates, Skyler Smith, Ila Ann and Aubrey Miles, Reese Phelps, Clayvius Hilton, John Maddox and Jase Champion
