French Camp’s next Historical Highlight luncheon will be Thursday, November 9, 12:00pm at French Camp Presbyterian Church’s Living Stones Building. The speakers will be Bill and Share Steffen from Oshkosh, Wisconsin who have been doing volunteer work in French Camp for 8 years. Their topic will be “French Camp: At Home in Our Hearts.” They will talk about a variety of projects they have done, people they have worked with and why they consider French Camp their second home.
Bill and Share first came as volunteers with “Volunteer Mobile Missionaries,” a Christian organization of retired couples who do work projects for Christian ministries throughout the US. They have fallen in love with the people, vision and ministry that takes place among the staff and students in French Camp and now come on their own to work both with the Academy and the church. Come and hear about how the Lord uses humble servants like the Steffens to do amazing things behind the scenes in French Camp!
Thanks to our wonderful cook, Donna Perkins, we will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. ($3 donation)
The December 14 luncheon will feature a Christmas meal, sharing Christmas traditions and singing Christmas carols. The January 11 luncheon will be
about the French Camp Cemetery with local historian Margie Gilmer as speaker.
