The ninth-annual Pink Celebration will be held at the Louisville Coliseum on Saturday, October 21, 2023, in conjunction with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event is from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. The public is invited to come together to honor all those affected by Breast Cancer and to spread awareness.
Participants are encouraged to dress for the occasion and to decorate their vehicles in pink and white. To ensure the safety of all participants and guests, everyone is asked to remain in their vehicles for the short program. For more information about the Pink Celebration, one may contact Janice Turner at (662) 705-1006. Turner is the founder of the Pink Celebration. She is a 39-year survivor of breast cancer.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death for women in the United States. Since 1989, breast cancer death rates have significantly decreased by 43% overall through 2020. Better screening, early detection, increased awareness, and improving treatment options have contributed to this decline. Spreading awareness through events like the Pink Celebration is key to surviving breast cancer.
