What happens when we pass from this earth? For Christians, the soul will go one of two places. Making a decision about Jesus before we pass from this life is the most important decision one will make, and the members of South Louisville Baptist Church are putting on a production called Judgement House to symbolize the importance of this decision.
The church’s youth and adults will work together to perform the drama, something they have made an annual event. This year’s Judgement House kicks off on October 22, and will be performed again on October 25, October 29, and November 1.
The production is under the direction of South Louisville Baptist Church Pastor, Trent Jaudon, as well as the Student Minister Dusty Coward. Because of the scope of the production, a majority of the church’s members have some type of “job” associated with putting on Judgement House.
This year’s theme for Judgement House is called “Web of Lies,” and it features a message about the “web” of the internet.
If you’ve never been to one of the Judgement House productions, typically, youth groups/church groups attend; however, any group is welcome. Visitors will move through stations of the drama, which lasts about an hour per performance. New groups will be moved through stations at fifteen-minute intervals. The staggering of groups allows for as many groups as possible to attend the performance.
On Sundays, performances begin at 3:00 PM. Interested groups are encouraged to contact the church for a reservation. The contact number is 662-773-3023. Carla Fleming is in charge of reservations. Walk-ins to performances are welcome but are advised that there may be wait times as groups with reservations will be given priority.
Because of the serious nature of the drama, the performances are recommended for those in sixth grade and up.
Once a reservation is confirmed, attendees are encouraged to arrive at the church at least fifteen minutes prior to showtime. Each group will be registered prior to entering the performance.
