Winston County and Louisville – you asked, and you were heard! After many years of being asked whether the annual Red Hills Festival could be moved to a different weekend, the Winston County Chamber of Commerce moved the event. After many years of being held on Memorial Weekend, this year, the Festival will be held on May 18. This is one week earlier than traditionally.
“We moved (the Festival) off of the holiday weekend because so many people travel and have asked us for years to move it,” said Amy Hillyer of the Winston County Chamber of Commerce. “We hope this will continue to grow the festival moving forward.”
Typically, the Red Hills Festival includes a myriad of arts and crafts opportunities as well as multiple vendors offering food, clothing, and more. A car show is also held that morning, which tends to draw a large crowd as well. The Red Hills Arts Association hosts an art show in conjunction with the festival.
This year, there will be a kids’ zone for kids to play and have fun, plus there will be a 5k Run and a Fun Run for kids as well.
Hillyer noted that the Chamber is currently looking for vendors and sponsors for the Festival. Interested individuals may email her at amy@winstoncounty.com.
Currently, the Chamber is finalizing the Friday Night Street Party entertainment as well as the entertainers slated to perform on the day of the Festival.
We hope you will adjust your calendar to attend this popular Winston County event that draws numerous visitors to our area!
