On Tuesday, April 12, Louisville Mayor Will Hill signed a proclamation recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. The proclamation states that child abuse is felt my entire communities, and therefore must be dealt with by entire communities, and effective prevention programs are partnerships created between social services, schools, civic organizations, law enforcement and businesses. The proclamation calls upon all citizens, community agencies, organizations, medical facilities and businesses to increase their participation in efforts to prevent child abuse.
