How many cards or letters have you written this past year, say since last Christmas? Maybe you only use social media these days but even though any message is welcome, nothing beats your actual signature, the sweet smell of your stationary, or the actual pic you enclose.
Letters and cards can be very creative.
They are also a place where we can express what we might find difficult. Karen Cushman, US author, says, "It was a lot easier to write what I thought or felt than to say it out loud. I could write things I'd never say to someone's face."
Maybe you design your own cards? Now that most phones have excellent cameras, folks catch those wonderful pics of babies, or sports activities, or that butterfly on the sunflower! Yes, your friend would like to see them!
Reconnect with your friends through your creative and interesting letters. Folks change, things change, life situations change and that means both you and your friends change too. Think how much joy comes your way when you hear from someone far away. You can being that joy to another!
Carmen Berry and Tamara Traeder, US writers, remind us, "Keep those cards and letters coming! Most of us eagerly anticipate cards and photographs from friends who are far away. And it does not matter when you get them. C. sends Easter cards, because that's when she finishes writing the cards she meant to send at Christmas."
Write on!
BLESSINGS.
