Cpl. Miguel Graham and Sgt. David Fair of the Eupora Police Department addressed the Eupora Rotary Club on May 23.
They discussed community policing and recounted some of their experiences as police officers.
Graham, a 2011 graduate of East Webster High School, has been with the EPD about 1½ years after first serving with police departments in Tupelo and Starkville. He said he chose law enforcement because he always wanted to find a way to give back.
His career choice has been challenging but a great experience so far, according to Graham.
“We try to do what we can to protect and serve,” he said of Eupora’s police force.
Police Chief Lawrence Caradine and the EPD have hosted various activities this spring to give back to the community, including Funny Bunny Fun Day on March 18. The goal of a pizza party held May 6 at the Community Center was to make the community aware of the Police Department and how everyone can work together and help each other. Movie Night with the Cops was held Saturday night at the Civic Center, with another being planned.
