The Town of Noxapater will bring “The Biggest Small Town Mardi Gras” with a completely different spin on Saturday, February 26 starting at 11 a.m.
The Noxapater Community Chamber Alliance is planning to hold a festival and fundraiser to help with their continued work in beautifying and upscaling the town and promoting our local businesses. Food, fun, shopping and activities for everyone in a family friendly atmosphere will be in downtown Noxapater.
Noxapater Community Chamber Alliance invites anyone to enter the Mardi Gras parade, as well. The parade will start at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26. The route will be similar to the Christmas parade but a little shorter and will possibly loop through town twice. Entries, again like the Christmas parade, could be a vehicle, golf cart, atv, horse/buggy, firetruck, float, walkers, bands, etc. Simple, extravagant, whatever you prefer. Dress up if you like, and purple, green and gold décor. There is no entry fee for the parade. Additionally, feel free to throw colorful Mardi Gras beads, pre-packaged candy, small toys or stuffed animals from your entry, keeping in mind to throw cautiously as to not hurt anyone.
The Winston County Journal will supply bags that will be on hand before the parade for children to use to gather their loot. This is a great opportunity to promote your business, school, group, etc., and to be involved in a fun, family friendly activity. You can mail your parade entry to the Noxapater Community Chamber Alliance, PO Box 32, Noxapater, MS, 39346, or you can pick up, fill out, and return entries to any parade committee member or the Noxapater City Hall.
