RICH DIVIDENDS FOR CATTLE OWNERS – Tick Eradication shows immense benefits in remarkable short time. During the summer of 1910 the people of Holmes County voted in favor of tick eradication work, but actual operations were not started until February of the present season. 152 cattle dipping vats are in active operation and practically all the cattle of the county have been regularly dipped in arsenical solution every two weeks; in consequence the ticks are almost exterminated and the State and Federal Bureaus of Animal Industry have rated permission for cattle to be shipped from Holmes and other counties of the state in which the work has been regularly conducted, to any part of the United States, at any time of the year and for any purpose as free cattle, when handled in accordance with the modified regulations of the Mississippi Live Stock Sanitary Board. It is estimated that the increased valuation of every load of cattle shipped from Holmes County this fall will be $150.00. Let every county in Mississippi join in the statewide fight against the tick – It pays to raise clean cattle. Build dipping vats and dip your cattle in Arsenical solution. Apply for bulletins and blueprints of Dipping vats. J. A. KIERNAN, Inspector in Charge, Nashville, Tenn.
