Members of the Nanih Waiya community are looking forward to the upcoming Fall Festival to be held at the park and Community Center on October 21. The festivities begin at 9 AM that morning, lasting until 3 PM that evening. Kids of all ages will enjoy a multitude of activities, including carnival rides and games, a visit to the pumpkin patch, and a fun run.
The Community Park of Nanih Waiya is funded by private donations, and Fall Fest is one way to raise money for the park.
Hailey Moody spoke with the Journal, and he revealed that at least forty arts and crafts vendors are expected for the event. An antique car show will be held, and a bake sale will take place in the community center. Moody added that at least 150 ladies from the community donate to the bake sale, with items ranging from cakes and pies to cupcakes and much more. These items will be on sale throughout the day.
Kids may also participate in a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, where kids may purchase a pumpkin for $1.
Those interested in participating in the antique car show may contact Hailey Moody at 662-803-8810.
In addition, a “fun run” for kids ages 4 – 11 will take place at 9:00 AM that morning. Participants should show up to register at 8:50 AM.
Entertainment provided includes local musicians Shake the Bucket, Mark and Fernando, and Jodie Ross.
Everyone is invited to the Fall Fest; there is something fun for everyone!
