Our story we read Jan. 28 at the Maben Public Library was "Sneezy the Snowman," written by Maureen Wright and illustrated by Stephen Gilpin.
Sneezy was not your usual snowman as he didn't like the cold very much. He tried warming himself by drinking hot cocoa, by wearing a stocking cap on his head, by sitting in a hot tub, by sitting by a campfire and by wearing a scarf.
These items were provided by the children that built him. They wanted to take good care of him so each time he melted, they would build him back. He just kept sneezing, hence the name Sneezy, but then he got too hot.
He started taking off all the clothes the children had given him. They stopped him and told him a better way to cool off. It was to go to the ice cream store. They got him seven scoops of ice cream and when he finished he decided he was just right.
The children used their fine motor skills to tear tissue paper and glued it on their snowman shape. After they finished their snowmen, we did an experiment to melt some snowmen with vinegar using eye droppers. This experiment turned out really good except the eyes and nose fell off. Then they enjoyed playing with their favorite, Play-Doh!
On Jan. 28 we had Tyler Kay Bates, Skyler Smith, Legend Allen, Reese Phillips and Stella Smith

Feb. 4 Storytime
It was a small crowd on a cold Friday, Feb. 4!
We read "Valentine's Day" by Anne Rockwell. This told of children at school being creative and making valentines for their friends.
They used glue and glitter, wrote poems, decorated their names fancy and drew some of their favorite pictures.
The children at Storytime were very creative also. They drew turtles and made flower shapes out of stickers, decorated their name fancy and cut shapes out of paper.
