We had a good group Friday at the Maben Public Library for the beginning of 2023. I hope I can continue to reach out to children of all ages.
This is a fun time for kids to get together and read a story, and we usually do a fun craft along with music. Friday we read "Snowmen at Night." This is an interesting story written by Caralyn Buehner and illustrated by Mark Buehner.
This tells of some fun things snowmen do at night and the children look forward to snow where they can do some of the same things, such as sledding, skating on ice, snowball fights, races, baseball in the park and drinking hot cocoa. The snowmen drank cold cocoa so as not to melt!
After reading our story the children were given paper and paints to use their imagination to paint something they heard in the story or just a pretty picture. We then drank lukewarm cocoa with lots of marshmallows. Play-Doh, as usual, was lots of fun and interesting things were made.
Friday we had Tyler Kay Bates, Barrett Willers, Magnolia, Miller and Maverick Turner, Bentley Flora, Elishava, Ian and Seth Barrett.
