We had a couple of visitors March 15 at the Maben Public Library for Storytime as it was spring break.
Our story, "Little Chick's Happy Easter," was read by Stephnie Smith. I couldn't do Storytime without her. She is always willing to help with
whatever I need. This story is all about Little Chick wanting to
surprise his Mama for Easter.
He collects eggs from the henhouse and puts them in a basket, white the other animals watch. Then he dyes them all different colors and patterns. But when Mama sees them, she is surprised, but that is not the only surprise. They hear “peck, peck, peck” from the eggs.
The chickens are hatching! They can't believe their eyes. Two little sisters and one little brother! We have some eggs in an incubator that we are trying to hatch. Hopefully, they will have hatched by today. The children enjoyed using scissors to cut out eggs for their basket and watercolors.
Last Friday we had Kolson Herd, Skyler Smith, Aubrey and Ila Ann Miles, Reese Phelps, Harley Roper, John Maddox and Jase William Champion, and Clayvius Hilton.
