Eupora resident Stephen Vaughan has released after 47 years a record, "Rocking Horse" by California English.
This was a demo recording written and sung by Vaughan and Steven Vaus to secure a publishing contract. Nothing became of the song until it was heard by and just released with Fervor Records.
California English is the union of Vaus, who is from California, and Vaughan, who is from England. “Rocking Horse” is available on YouTube, iTunes and other online sites.
Vaughan was born in England, and attended high school and art school in New York. He returned to England and went on to become an assistant recording engineer at Olympic Studios in London. He later worked as a production assistant at Bronze Records.
Vaughan has worked with the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Uriah Heep, on the “Jesus Christ Superstar” album and with many others. He also played guitar and sang on various recordings.
After parting ways with Vaus, he left the music industry and worked as a designer and general manager at Omnova (formerly General Tire & Rubber).
Retiring early, Vaughan is again involved in writing music and is always looking to write, play and collaborate with other artists.
