The balmy weather on Saturday, April 27, made for a great day to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Those attending Kids n Katz at the Legion State Park in Louisville were met with partly cloudy skies and a bit of gusty wind.
By 8:00 AM, 163 participants had registered. Overall, Rev. Mike Dowd (Friends of Legion Lake and the Lions Club) noted that 173 total attended the event. That more than doubles the number of participants in the 2023 Kids n Katz event.
In attendance at the Kids n Katz event were multiple conservation officers from surrounding counties. Cheerleaders from Noxapater set up a facepainting area. A meal was provided at the end of the event.
Lake Toppasha sits on the back of the park, and it was teeming with fish for the event. While the event was heavily crowded, locals may join the Friends of Legion State Park and take advantage of some of membership benefits, which include free entrance into the park for a number of events.
