Grab your kids and their fishing gear and head to Choctaw Lake on Saturday, April 15th, for the Kids Fishing Rodeo. Kids aged 15 and under are invited to fish. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. A parent or guardian must attend with the child participating to sign a release waiver. Choctaw Lake is located on Highway 15 South, just outside of Ackerman.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 8:45 a.m., with fishing from 9-11 a.m. This is a free event. Prizes will be given to children that catch a tagged fish. Bring everything your kids need to fish – fishing poles, bait, stringer, and chairs.
The Bank of Kilmichael and Southern Company – Red Hills Operations will provide breakfast for the children before fishing begins. Choctaw County Farm Bureau will provide a snack bag for the kids to take home.
