The spring edition of the Hwy 15. Yard Sale Trail between Newton and Maben began Thursday, June 1, and runs through Sunday, June 4.
Hwy. 15 Yard Sale organizer Timothy Bozeman sees the event as a huge economic benefit for all the towns and communities along the route.
“The Hwy. 15 Yard Sale will benefit everyone – whether you are a vendor, restaurateur, gas station or small business,” he said. “Everyone benefits from this event! That’s why it is so important to do something as simple as sharing a Facebook post or inviting a friend to like the Hwy. 15 Yard Sale Facebook page.”
The town of Maben serves as the north end of the nearly 100-mile MS Hwy. 15 Yard Sale Trail and has passed a resolution officially supporting the event and waiving seller/vendor fees for this semiannual event. The town of Maben encourages all our community members to participate in this fun and free event. Yard-salers can set up for free along sidewalks on Webster Street. Sellers will need to provide their own set ups (tables, tents, electricity). While this is a four-day event, sellers can set up one or all days – whatever fits their needs.
According to the Maben coordinator, expect Saturday to be the busiest day for the town of Maben as the north end of the Hwy. 15 Yard Sale Event is mostly individual yard sales. Maben’s own Jeremiah’s Real Deal Whole Hog Pit BBQ and Faye Fulgham’s Famous Fried Pies will be available Saturday! In addition, the Maben Lions Club will be hosting a raffle fundraiser. Many businesses in Maben will be participating as well and have great sales and specials – for example, B Linked Permanent Jewelry will be at Springer’s Dry Goods.
This year more activity is being organized in Mathiston as well. Yard sale spots are available at Oldies But Goodies for one day or all days for the event. BaiLee’s Gypsy Wagon will have a yard sale and as always Melt’s will be open and serving up great treats!
Individuals, makers, bakers, junkers, vendors, antiquers and food vendors interested in setting up in the Maben area can contact Angela Waller at 662-263-7644 or Oldies But Goodies on Facebook or in person for more information.
Additional information and a map that shows all planned sales can be found on the Hwy. 15 Yard Sale Facebook page or by contacting Bozeman at 601-575-9091.
