The Maben Home and Garden Club has chosen the home of Mary Evelyn Hollensworth to receive the Yard of the Month for August.
Her expansive yard provides her with a degree of privacy while allowing space for surrounding vistas.
Even though her home is located on a private road it is a beautiful setting that has been home to Mary Evelyn for 53 years. She and her husband, Louis, developed this property in 1967 and made a home for their two daughters.
In the early years Louis nurtured a huge garden covering much of the yard north of the house. Today, the garden spot has been returned to grass which is mowed regularly by Mary Evelyn's grandson.
The Maben Garden Club wishes to recognize properties like the Hollensworth home in the Maben area that are well maintained and attractively landscaped.
