In the book of James 1:22-25, it says something about being “doers of the word, and not only hearers.”
Those words can be used to describe Grace Covenant Church at 51 Turner St. in Maben, next door to the Maben Medical Clinic.
This church, pastored by Bro. Justin Davis, and Bro. JT Champion, last summer at the Maben Park hosted a weeklong Bible School for all area students. It ended up on Friday of that week with a cookout for the public, and the park was covered with many people, adults and youth alike.
This church has only been in Maben two short years, and for the second time, after the 2023 Christmas Parade, held a soup and stew supper for the public the night of Dec. 2.
Church members were getting ready before the start of the parade. Before the night was over, many people had come through and enjoyed some of the best soup or stew you could find.
This church has a Facebook page under the name “Grace Covenant Church Maben” in which you may check on all the activities of the week. Thanks to Grace Covenant Church in Maben for being a Doer of the Word, and not only a hearer.
