Sunday, the family of Sgt. Devlin “TJ” Triplett showered him with love and well wishes as he prepares for a second deployment. Triplett is set to deploy to Germany for a year and will leave the first week in February.
His mother, Grace Triplett, and wife Merida Triplett held a dinner in his honor at Lake Tiak O-Khata. Family members wished him well and assured him that while he was away, they would take care of Merida and their children.
Family members also told Merida, as she fought back tears, that if she ever needed them to never hesitate to give them a call.
But, the most heartfelt moment is when is son wished him well. “I pray you make it back, unharmed. I looked up to you, I still look up to you and I’ll do my best to help Merida with whatever she needs. I’ll do the best I can,” he said as the two had a long embrace.
The dinner was lively with jokes to lighten the mood, but everyone’s hearts and thoughts were with Triplett has he prepares to embark on his second deployment in 22 years.
