The mayor and the Board of Aldermen are excited to announce the Eupora Police Department is receiving $252,631.81 for two grants from the Department of Justice.
The first grant will equip the Eupora police vehicle fleet with Police-In-Car Video/Body Camera/License Plate Reader technology, which is a groundbreaking leap forward in real-time awareness. This system will be iCloud based and can easily access video/audio.
The second grant will move the department from now using pen and paper to an E-Force Software that uses electronic devices such as an iPad in completing citations, crime reporting and court case management. The new software program provides for electronic record management that collects data for inputting into the National Incident-Based Reporting System.
These two grants would not have been possible without the help from Congressman Trent Kelly and his staff, and the Eupora Economic Development Team for writing and submitting the grant application.
