The mayor and the Eupora Economic Development 501c3 non-profit organization have announced the Eupora Parks and Recreation Department is receiving a $4,500 grant from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Grant Program.
These funds are critical for the success of all of the sporting programs this department offers, the announcement stated.
Through the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund, this fund supports U.S. communities where the company has significant presence or business interest.
The employees serve on local advisory committees for their Giving Fund and help develop funding priorities within seven focus areas to support their communities; affordable housing; education and youth development; environmental stewardship; human services; civic and cultural growth; workforce development; and diversity, equity and inclusion.
These focal areas provide a strong companywide framework for giving while allowing flexibility to meet specific needs in its different communities.
